April 6—Alexandria Mitchell-Elsasser

Alexandria “Axie” Mitchell-Elsasser, a senior at Central High School, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of April 6.
Mitchell-Elsasser was selected because she exemplifies excellence in academics, leadership and service. She maintains a 4.0 GPA and earned a 33 ACT score. She also received AP Scholar with Distinction recognition and the President’s Award for Service.
She participates in speech and debate and Junior Olympic archery, and serves as secretary and treasurer for National Honor Society. She has dedicated more than 1,000 combined hours volunteering with the Laramie County Library System and Meals on Wheels.
“Axie stands out for her reliability, organization and a positive attitude, making her a role model within the school community,” Central counselor Candice Love said.
Following graduation, she plans to attend the University of Wyoming to study mathematics and psychology.
Mitchell-Elsasser selected Joey Barlow as her favorite teacher because he is a great listener and genuinely cares about his students.
