Tuition-Based Information

A districtwide tuition-based prekindergarten program is proposed to be offered at Anderson, Deming and Pioneer Park elementary schools. These programs will only be offered if district resources are available, and enrollment reaches capacity. Tuition-based prekindergarten registration will be held Feb. 5 - March 1.

Please note that applying for prekindergarten does not guarantee a spot. Confirmation and enrollment assignment will be sent by March 15.

Prekindergarten Eligibility Requirements

  • Children must be age 4 by August 1st to be eligible for the Tuition-Based Prekindergarten program.  
  • Children who have turned 5 years old on or before August, are not eligible for prekindergarten programs in Laramie County School District #1. They are eligible for kindergarten services; families are encouraged to contact their home elementary school for information or central administration at (307) 771-2185.

Tuition-Based Prekindergarten Program Highlights

  • LCSD#1 Prekindergarten programs will follow the same calendar as all other Elementary Schools within the district.  Access the district elementary calendar here.
  • Classes will be taught by a licensed Early Childhood Teacher.  Each classroom will also be supported by an Early Childhood Paraeducator.
  • Students will have exposure to PE, Music, Art, and Library.
  • Students will have the opportunity to participate in occasional field trips off campus.
  • Students will be exposed to curriculum designed for age appropriateness.
  • Students will engage in play-based learning, while also being exposed to important early literacy and math skills for kindergarten readiness standards. 
  • LCSD#1 Prekindergarten programs use Early Childhood standards, aligned with the Wyoming’s Early Learning Standards.  
  • Students will receive a quarterly progress report, where student progress is shared with parents.

Meals

  • Daily breakfast and lunch options will be available for purchase through LCSD#1’s Nutrition Services Program.  Snacks will be provided.

Transportation

  • Parents are responsible for transporting prekindergarten age children to and from school daily.
