Our expectations of you and your child for summer school are as follows:
-
Students will be allowed 2 absences for each session (grades 7-12). Parents/guardians will be contacted daily if their student is absent. (reminder: 3 tardies (10 minutes late) equals one absence.
-
Inappropriate behavior, as determined by administration, will not be tolerated. A student displaying inappropriate behaviors can be immediately dismissed from the summer school program. All students attending any District Summer School Program need intensive instruction; time cannot be used to continually correct inappropriate behavior.
-
Students need to come to summer school prepared to work diligently for the entire session.
-
A School Resource Officer (SRO) from the Cheyenne Police Department will be available each day during the summer school **sessions. The SRO may bring a drug dog on random days during the summer school sessions. Please contact the summer school office at South HS if you have any questions or need support from the SRO.
-
Transportation will be provided from neighborhood elementary schools to and from South HS for 7th-12th grade students. Limited transportation services will be provided to students living outside the walking area to the summer school. A transportation schedule will be available on the district’s web page by the first week of June. If you have any questions about transportation, please contact the District Transportation Department on 771-2628.
